We miss you Jenny

Well, Jenny’s in India. How bout that?

That is Ursa saying goodbye in the picture above.  She knows what’s up and she is none  too keen on being left behind to take care of Brian.

Jenny got off on Monday, flying east out of PDX.  Taking the long way around, maybe. But she made it safely and she has woken the past two mornings in New Delhi. Actually she is probably sleeping soundly, but should be waking up any hour now.  Soon enough, she will be posting on here as regularly as we can make her.

Jenny will be in New Delhi for the upcoming week through Sept  9 and then off to find her new home in Udaipur. This first week is orientation. Here is a link to the schedule of orientation speakers. google doc

Postscript:

I just called India. For 9 cents a minute Skype connected me to her hotel in New Delhi. She didn’t pick up but I did speak to an Indian man at the desk. ‘She’s not in her room sir”….”Hi. You can hear me?”…’She’s not in her room sir, you will have to wait’…’Am I speaking too loud?” … ‘Yes Sir. And she is not in her room sir. you will have to wait.”

That was awesome. I am incredulous.

Just a comment, you can call India using AIrtel; website is http://www.airtel.com. They charge just a little under 2 cents per minute. You can buy $25.00 worth of minutes and they are valid for 6 months. Reception is pretty clear. You dial the local american access number (do not dial the 877 number), they will have a local number (we have a 714 number here in Orange county) and then your registered number and the then just follow directions.
Lot cheaper than using a card or skype.
    Great posts and pictures

This is such helpful information, thanks much Dilip. I’m always so curious how people I don’t know find this blog… Namaste!
